MASAM MANIS 2009

SUKA DUKA SUKAN NEGARA...

CAYOKK!! CAYOK!!! MPSJ..

FINALY GOLD!!! CONGRATS !!!

SEA Games: Malaysia beats Vietnam 1-0 in final

VIENTIANE: Malaysia finally ended its 20-year gold drought in the SEA Games men’s football competition, when it defeated Vietnam 1-0 in the final played at the Main Stadium of the National Sports Complex in Vientiane on Thursday.
The National Under-23 boys, who came here as non-medal prospects, pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the Games to win the gold.
Malaysia last won the football gold in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games in 1989, with a 1-0 victory over Singapore.
Vietnam's Mai Xuan Hop (right) weeps as the Malaysians celebrate their 1-0 victory in the Laos SEA Games football final. Mai's own goal proved to be the 'decisive winner' for the Malaysians.
The ‘winner’ came courtesy of an own goal by Vietnam’s Mai Xuan Hop’s in the 84th minute of a toughly-fought final. The football gold medal was also Malaysia’s 40th gold medal in Vientiane.
The victory was all the more sweeter as the Malaysians had lost 1-3 to Vietnam in a group match on Dec 6.
Earlier, the young Malaysians had knocked out defending champions Thailand 2-1 in the group stage to win a place in the semi-finals.
Then in the last four, they downed Laos 3-1 in front of a sell-out 20,000 fans.
CONGRATS!!! MALAYSIA BOLEH!!! INGAT JANGAN MUDAH LUPA!!! PUJIAN MENANTI... IMBUHAN MENANTI... KEHANCURAN BILA-BILA BOLEH JADI....

LAOS SEA GAMES 2009

CEMERLANG??

15 Dec 2009

Berapa banyak pemain kita kehilangan bola?? berapa banyak pemain kita ditewaskan one to one?? berapa banyak pemain kita seolah-olah tiada idea?? berapa cepat pemain kita nampak seakan longlai?? personal skill laos nampak lebih baik.. fitness laos nampak lebih bagus.. mungkin koordinasi mereka lemah.. itu bercerita pasal bolasepak.. any way tahniah..
Apa dah jadi dengan sukan lain.. ?? Silat belum menghasilkan emas.. hanya gangsa setakat hari ini.. Vieatnam dan Thailand seakan lagi meyerlah.. Pusaka kita mungkin kah BERKUBUR??

MALAYSIA DUMP HOSTS LAOS FOR PLACE IN FINAL

Malaysia rallied to beat hosts Laos 3-1 in the second semi-final of the men's football event to book their place in the final against Vietnam which will be played at the same venue of the Main Stadium on Dec 17. The final appearance is the first for the Malaysians in eight years since 2001 when they lost to Thailand in Kuala Lumpur. And this evening with the expectant fans heavily backing the home team to make their debut in the final of the SEA Games, it was to be the Malaysians who pinned their opponents in their own half at the start of the game.

In the second minute, Abdul Manaf Mamat tested Laos keeper Souvanpheng Panthavong with a rifling shot from 20metre out while several minutes later, striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha's attempt with placing shot was parried. Laos put pressure in the midfield through the hard work of Lamnao Singto and Kampheng Sayyavuthi but they just could not get past the Malaysian backline marshalled by Zafuan Adha Abdul Razak.

Malaysia rallied to beat hosts Laos 3-1

In the 13th minute, a blanket of silence fell on the Laos fans when off a cross from Manaf Mamat on the right, Badrol Bakhtiar rose high for an overhead kick which went straight into goal. As the small Malaysian supporters began chanting, Laos came close with a free kick from Kaysone Soukhavong but his attempt was well received by Malaysian custodian Sharbinee Allawee.

Malaysia were a little slower going into the second half and as they laid back to protect their lead, a seemingly innocuous dipping shot from distance in the 72nd minute beat Sharbinee for the first time in the game - much to the jubilation of the home fans.

But in their eagerness to look for their second goal and the lead, Laos left gaps at the back and this allowed Malaysia to capitalise on in the 78th minute when Badrol picked a pass from S. Kunalan to blast home.

And sixth minutes later, Safiq Rahim made it beyond Laos' reach with the third goal from inside the penalty box to put Malaysia through. Malaysia's appearance in the final will allow them the chance for a re-match against Vietnam, whom they lost to in the group stage with a 3-1 score line.

FOOTBALL - SEA GAME

MALAYSIA TO FACE THAILAND IN DECISIVE TIE OF GROUP A

Malaysia got the chance for a place in the semi-finals from Group A of the men’s football event when they beat Cambodia 4-0 in the match that was played at the Chao Anu Vong Stadium. Needing the win and the points to give themselves the chance of a place in the final four, the Malaysians rebounded from their troubled outing against Vietnam two days ago to slot one goal in the first half and three further goals in the second half for the win.

The win for the Malaysians has set a decisive clash against Thailand on December 11 with the winner set to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition. The Malaysians began with their trademark slow off the block at the start of the first quarter of an hour although Abdul Manaf Mamat missed from close range in the tenth minute. Several misses later saw Malaysia maintaining their composure before they finally broke through in the 34th minute when Manaf punished the Cambodian backline for a poor clearance.

With the score to the advantage of the Malaysians at the end of the first half, Cambodia gained an opportunity to draw level in the 52nd minute when they were awarded with a penalty. But Kouch Sokumpheak shot straight to Malaysian keeper Farizal Marlias after his first attempt was disallowed for an infringement.

That failure put pressure on the Cambodians and in their eagerness to go forward, they fell further behind in the 75th minute when Norshahrul Idlan Talaha latched on to a cross from S. Kunalan. Six minutes later, Kunalan made it 3-0 to the advantage of the Malaysians when he slammed home a rebound before Safiq Rahim converted a penalty five minutes to the end.

In the meantime, Thailand were on easy street this afternoon as a hat-trick from Sompong Soleb led the defending champions to a 9-0 win over Timor Leste.

Sompong led the free-flowing of goals with a strike as early as the third minute before wrapping up his three goals with further strikes in the 32nd and 76th minute. The other goal scorers for Thailand were Anawin Jujeen 37th and 86th minute, ApipooSunthornpanavej (46th and 60th), Kriangkrai Pimrat (44th) and Piyachart Harahan (49th).

SEA GAMES JUST AROUND THE "Selekoh Maut"

Laos bukan tempat buru emas

SAD FOR ARSENAL !!!

Bent goal sinks Gunners

GettyImages
In-form Sunderland striker Darren Bent scores the winning goal for his side against Arsenal.

November 21, 2009, 8:10 AM UKEngland striker Darren Bent fired title-chasing Arsenal to a first defeat in 14 games as Sunderland battled their way to victory.
Bent struck 19 minutes from time to seal a tight contest after the Gunners had failed to make the most of the possession they enjoyed at the Stadium of Light.
It might have been different had keeper Marton Fulop not denied Tomas Rosicky with a vital fifth minute save or had referee Alan Wiley pointed to the penalty spot after substitute Carlos Vela went down in the box in injury time.
But the Black Cats battled all the way to the whistle to condemn the visitors to defeat for the first time since September 12.
At the start of the season, Sunderland had not beaten one of the traditional big four clubs since their return to the Barclays Premier League, but their victory today in front of a crowd of 44,918 was their first since they defeated Liverpool on Wearside on October 17.
The Gunners arrived on Wearside without star striker Robin van Persie, the subject of much discussion this week after opting for treatment on his injured ankle which included the use of horse placenta.
His absence, coupled with that of Nicklas Bendtner, left manager Arsene Wenger with few options in attack, although his team-sheet still made for impressive reading.
The Frenchman opted to field Rosicky and Samir Nasri in support of lone frontman Eduardo, and that meant he still had Andrey Arshavin in reserve on the bench.
But opposite number Steve Bruce had problems in central defence with Michael Turner suspended, and Paulo da Silva and John Mensah, back after six games out with a calf problem, found themselves fully extended at times during a tight first half.
Rosicky and Nasri repeatedly linked with Eduardo and skipper Cesc Fabregas, while Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Song kept Lorik Cana and Jordan Henderson occupied in the middle of the field.
The Gunners might have been in front as early as the fifth minute when Fabregas expertly turned Bacary Sagna's deep cross into the path of Rosicky, who forced a good save from Fulop with a well-struck volley.
Fabregas whistled a 13th minute drive just over the bar, but Fulop was a relieved man after Song and Eduardo had combined to carve their way into the penalty area with 32 minutes gone.
The pair exchanged passes on the edge of the box and Song continued his run, only to just fail to get a touch to Eduardo's shot as it ran agonisingly wide of the post.
In the meantime, Sunderland had created two chances of their own, both of them falling to Steed Malbranque from left wing crosses.
The first saw him fire just over from full-back George McCartney's ball in, but he skied the second, with Andy Reid this time the provider, high over the bar.
Arsenal resumed in much the same vein as they took the game to Sunderland, although they were still unable to pierce the Black Cats' defence.
But Sunderland produced a flurry of their own, full-back Armand Traore just managing to cut out Henderson's 52nd minute through-ball to Bent and keeper Manuel Almunia coming from his line to claim possession with Reid putting William Gallas under intense pressure seconds later.
Almunia's goal came under threat once again five minutes later when Reid drilled a long-range free kick just wide, and the Irishman then skied a snapshot high over the bar.
Wenger's response was to replace Ramsey with Arshavin, and Bruce quickly followed suit when he withdrew Malbranque and sent on Fraizer Campbell.
But it was Sunderland's newcomer who made a swift impact with 71 minutes gone, although he did not know a lot about it.
Bent's header from a Reid corner cannoned back off his legs at the far post and fell perfectly for his strike partner to smash it home before Almunia could get there.
Wenger immediately sent on Theo Walcott and Vela for Rosicky and Eduardo, but it was Arshavin who very nearly came to their rescue with three minutes remaining.
The midfielder got to Song's cross at the far post, but he could only direct his shot into the side-netting.
But the Gunners could not believe they were not awarded an injury time penalty for Campbell's challenge on Vela with referee Alan Wiley waving their appeals away.

HARGA BARANGAN DAN ALATAN SUKAN

MAHAL !!!

APA DAH JADI..

National athletes fail to light up

KUALA LUMPUR Oct 10 — National athletes failed to live up to the mark on the first day of the MAAU Open at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here today, as none of them met the Laos SEA Games qualifying mark. The Malaysian Amateur Athletics Union (MAAU) had organised the two-day meet to provide a platform for national athletes to try and qualify for the Laos SEA Games by meeting the qualifying mark set by the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
The 100m especially, seen as a preview of the blue-ribbon event in Laos, saw Malaysian runner Mohd Noor Imran languishing in seventh place with a time of 10.81s, well off the 10.33s qualifying time set by OCM. The race was won by Indonesia”s Suryo Agung Widiwo, winner of the gold medal at the Korat SEA Games in Thailand two years ago, with a time of 10.43s.
It was also an indication that the gold medal drought in the 100m and 200m sprint events of the SEA Games since 2003, when Nazmizan Mohammad won a sprint double in Hanoi when Vietnam hosted the games.
Before the meet, 11 athletes had already qualified for the Laos games under Category A, namely S. Mathialagan (800m), Yuan Yu Fang, Lo Choon Sieng, Teoh Boon Lim (20km walk), Lee Hup Wei (high jump), Mohd Hafizuddin Shahadan (pole vault), M. Vadivellan (800m, 5000m, 1,500m), Chan Woo Yew (marathon), Noraseela Mohd Khalid (400m hurdles), Roslinda Samsu (pole vault), Tan Song Hwa (hammer throw). The 110m hurdles final was also a disappointing one although a Malaysian won the race, Mohd Faiz Mohammad”s time of 14.20s in the absence of injured Robbani Hassan and Rayzam Syah Wan Sofian, was nowhere near the 13.95s qualifying mark. MAAU chief coach Hanafiah Nasir who witnessed the failure of his charges to live up to the mark, said it was now up to the MAAU to assess the potential of the athletes to be sent under Category B. He added that since Rayzam is the defending SEA Games champion in the 110m hurdles, he and Robbani who both have the best times in South East Asia, should be considered under Category B. Rayzam has clocked 13.98s while Robbani set 14.13s during the Taiwan Open in July. "I hope their injuries are not serious but I will refer them to the National Sports Institute (ISN) to check the seriousness of their injury,” Hanafiah told reporters here today. Expenses for athletes under Category A will be borne by the OCM while associations foot the bill for athletes under Category B. However, such expenses will be reimbursed if athletes under Category B, won gold or silver medals.

GOOD NEWS

Brilliant David defends world Open title

Nicol David threw aside doubts about her reign as the world's outstanding squash player when she made a magnificent recovery from a game down to win the World Open a fourth time here on Sunday.

The Malaysian's initially hesitant but eventually beautifully taken 3-11, 11-6, 11-3, 11-8 win over Natalie Grinham, the second-seeded Australian, made her only the third player since the founding of the women's circuit to have won so many.

There had nevertheless been moments when it seemed the best known woman squash player of all time might founder on the twin pressures of intense expectation and her opponent's formidably athletic challenge.

David had lost her British Open title a fortnight ago and had two tough matches en route to the final, while Grinham, the wife of tournament director Tommy Berden, had often played with an assurance which suggested this World Open was destined for her.

But after making a brilliant start, taking an early lead in the second game after dominating the first, Grinham let David into the match with some errors in the front court, and after that everything changed.

The match turned into a superb spectacle of flowing movement and varied patterns between two of the finest movers the game has ever seen - especially great entertainment as both live in Amsterdam for most of the year - with David growing in confidence and in vision of how to win.

Instead of playing as a counter-attacker, she often played the ball short first, and with her accuracy - often making the ball cling treacherously to the wall - she was able to open up the court well.

She was then able to take charge of slightly more of the rallies than Grinham despite her opponent's fleet-footedness, following up with some good quality accuracy with her driving as well.

"I am so pleased. This was a very dangerous challenge from her," said David.

She briefly broke down as she thanked her parents at the prize-giving, apologizing, and recovering her composure by saying: "This is good."

David had been as usual under intense pressure of expectations to win the title again. As an icon for women across Asia, the holder of the Order of Merit and the title of Datuk in Malaysia, she is expected to deliver virtually all the time.

Her British Open failure had made it more difficult, and she was asked if this had therefore been the toughest to win of her four World Open titles.

"All had a different meaning," she said.

"To come back from last week means a lot."

Grinham, who had been playing as well as at any time since taking David the full five games in the World Open final in Belfast, said: "I'm obviously disappointed, but although I lost I was definitely up there with her."

David was so overwhelmed by adrenaline that she lost her train of thought at the post-match press conference, eventually she stuck her tongue out humourously and said: "I don't know what I'm saying any more," at which point the journalists allowed her to escape.

The match had three big swings of fortune.

The first came at 4-4 in the second game after which Grinham put one drop shot and two volley drops into the tin during the next seven rallies, allowing the champion to regain a comforting parity at one-game all.

The second came when Grinham made a determined start to the fourth game, reaching 6-3 and winning four points with perfect length shots, one with a stunning flick drive which was delivered with almost no back-swing at all.

But David got the serve back with an enterprising drop shot and volley drop combination, and then continued to attack with her short game much of the time until the end.

That came when she delivered another fine volley drop which Grinham just managed to scrape up but could not avoid hindering her opponent's view of the ball. Referee Chris Sinclair had the courage correctly to award a penalty stroke to finish the World Open final.

It confirmed David as one of the most successful players of all time, with the likelihood that she will continue to extend her 41-month reign as world number one for many more months yet.

It also suggested that Grinham, even at the age of 31, may have enough momentum, skill and character - especially having recovered from injuries and a lengthy bout of whooping cough - to mount another serious challenge.

WARNING..

Songphon and Kulchala win Japan title for Thailand

Thailand won only its second title in the history of the Japan Open badminton championship on Sunday when Songphon Anugritayawon and Kulchala Voravichitchaikul claimed the mixed doubles title.

The unseeded pair defeated sixth-seeded Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen of Denmark 13-21, 21-16, 22-20 in the final.

In 2005, Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thungthongkam became one of the most successful pairs from Thailand after they also won the tournament's mixed doubles title.

"I'm very happy, because this is the first time we won a title outside our country," said Songphon, 25.

"I still feel excited. We've reached the semi-finals and final, but we never became champions before, other than at the Thailand Open (in July)," said Kulchala, 24.

The pair lost the first game rather easily on Sunday, but their coach's advice to "use more skills" helped them to take the next two.

"Both teams made some mistakes and it was very close in the last two games. We thought about nothing but to fight point for point and finally we won the match," said Songphon.

Songphon added that they would try to follow in the footsteps of Sudket and Saralee and said: "Hopefully, we can win more titles after this victory."

Their next events are the Hong Kong Open and the China Open in November.

Cyclist Fauzan sacked after testing positive for steroids

Track cyclist Mohd Fauzan Lufti has been sacked from the elite squad programme with immediate effect and he will also be suspended for two years for testing positive for anabolic steroids.

And the cycling career of Fauzan is as good as over as the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF) will not tolerate anyone who chose to take a short cut to success.

The Anti Doping Agency Malaysia confirmed yesterday that Fauzan, who was part of the gold medal-winning side in the team pursuit at the 2005 Manila SEA Games, tested positive at the Mini Olympics Games last month.

Fauzan won the individual pursuit gold at the Mini Olympics and he was accepted back in the national elite programme based in Melbourne.

But he was hauled back after the doping test results were made known to the MNCF.

The MNCF deputy president, Datuk Naim Mohamad, said that they had to act immediately to protect the reputation of the sport.

“We asked the rider on Friday whether he wanted to put in an appeal after the A sample was tested positive. But he chose to rest his case and decided not to appeal for the B sample to be tested as well,” he said.

“He is no longer in the programme and his benefits have been withdrawn. We are waiting for the official letter and he will receive a two-year suspension in accordance with international rules.

“The MNCF’s stand and position is very clear. We have raised cycling to world standards on merit and we will not entertain those who want to join our ranks by other means.

“We cannot allow one bad apple to spoil the basket and tarnish the good name of Malaysian cycling.”
